The World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology is held every 4 years, and is the largest international meeting of the discipline. We invite our global colleagues as well as those in related disciplines such as pathology, immunology, internal medicine, parasitology, oncology, and microbiology to submit abstracts for presentation at the Congress in Bordeaux, May 31 – June 4, 2016.

Abstracts may be submitted under either of two categories:
1. Supporting Original Studies: high-impact studies of broad general interest in veterinary dermatology; requires an abstract, oral presentation at Congress, and manuscript for publication in Veterinary Dermatology journal; (if accepted full travel, accommodation and registration costs are paid by the Congress)

2. Free Communications/Posters: studies of more limited scope or narrower interest; require an abstract; oral or poster presentation at Congress; (no travel/accommodation or registration costs paid).
All abstracts will be reviewed in a competitive manner by the Program Committee.

The absolute deadline for receipt of abstracts by the Program Committee is:

o July 1st, 2015 for the Supporting Original Studies
o October 1st, 2015 for the Free Communications and Posters

For the Supporting Original Studies, abstracts related to one of the six plenary themes are preferred:

  • Genetic and genomics of the skin and skin diseases;
  • The skin as an immune organ – Allergy;
  • Infectious diseases;
  • The living skin: skin biology and the cutaneous ecosystem;
  • New trends in therapy;
  • New diagnostic approaches

For the free communications and poster abstracts, the submission categories will be:

  • Allergic diseases: pathobiology (pathogenesis and diagnosis)
  • Allergic diseases: treatment
  • Otitis
  • Parasites and parasitology
  • Follicular or cornification function or pathology
  • Skin biology and ecology
  • Infectious skin disesse
  • Neoplastic skin disease
  • Immune mediated skin diseaae
  • Rare and novel conditions
  • Equine skin disease
  • Skin disease of exotic species
  • Miscellaneous diseases
  • ACVD residents abstracts
